RT @Jelanimemory So 2 months ago I turned on notifications on my phone for our Shopify orders. It means every few minutes I get reminded that people are putting their trust in me and my company to help grow their kiddo. I don’t ever want to take that for granted. pic.twitter.com/DPOh…

RT @KristenClarkeJD Sacramento police drop kick man in the back while he is fully compliant w/ hands on his head. Turns out this was case of mistaken identity. This is the same department that shot and killed #StephonClark in his grandmother’s backyard. Systemically broken. pic.twitter.com/Mnw6…

Over the last several years, I’ve been invited to talk about storytelling and empathy in design at a variety of events, including: We Make Celebrates, Game Storm, Intel IT Connect, Oregon Storyboard, One Stone’s 24-hour Think Challenge, PSU’s Frientorship Program, Asked to by Jive Software to participate in re-imagining the “Future of Play” with 11 other design experts (result is on display at OMSI), CHIFOO, The Breaker Project, etc.
I’ve also been asked on a number of occasions to coach keynote speakers–one project included work for a global corporation who wanted a heuristic evaluation of their speaker’s word-use, tone, visuals, and body language. The project included a minute-by-minute breakdown with footage of the audience and when they were and were not paying attention.
They responded by implementing a company-wide language training session.
